A Horse, Of Course

“If spring is in the air and you have a passion for horses, your destination of choice is Equine Affaire,” extolls Marketing Coordinator Beth Volpe. Equine Affaire is North America’s foremost equine exposition and equestrian gathering. This year, it returns to the Ohio Expo Center from April 6-9th.

The four day event features over a 100 sessions and a multitude of vendors, encompassing seven venue spots.

  • Shop at Equine Affaire’s Marketplace
  • Learn about dozens of horse breeds and disciplines at Equine Affaire’s Breed Pavilion and Horse & Farms Exhibits
  • Develop your basic “horse skills” at the Equine Fundamentals Forum
  • Experience your first horseback ride by signing up for “Time to Ride”
  • Watch Equine Affaire’s signature musical (the Fantasia) and their popular Versatile Horse & Rider Competition.

You can even buy one of the horses for sale at the show!

Volpe also shares how Equine Affaire was created in 1993 to bridge the gaps and bring horse people from all facets of the horse world together in an event focused on education.

This year’s is their 55th event and the 24th in Ohio. “It’s certainly a feather in the cap of Columbus,” says Volpe.

As avid horse enthusiasts from throughout the Midwest and beyond travel to the show to take advantage of the unparalleled educational, shopping, and equine entertainment opportunities. She adds that, “within the horse world. There’s nowhere else like Equine Affaire.”

And if you can’t make it out this year, don’t fret! The show will be back again next year, from April 12-15, 2018. It’ll also mark the event’s 25th anniversary – so stay tuned for exciting news on that front.
