Waxing seems to be a glorious solution to the constant drudgery of shaving that just ends up in shorter prickly hair. Yet waxing turns out to not be such a great idea when you avoid the salon expense and buy an at-home kit. Instead of smooth legs for days you didn’t heat the wax at the right temperature, you missed several spots and are left with sticky residue all over your body.

Canvas Salon says goodbye to the suffering.

After settling in after a year since its opening at its Powell Road location, Canvas is expanding its waxing services while launching a new affordable price menu.

Now, the pain done to your wallet for a professional wax will come nothing close to the pain of being your own waxer.

“We love facial and body waxing and we believe that it should be affordable and high quality. So we are adding two additional wax rooms to the business,” Owner of Canvas Salon Stefanie Fox said.

In fact, some things on the menu are more than affordable — they are free. Customers’ first time brow wax at Canvas is complimentary. Now that news is eyebrow-raising.

Not only are customers rewarded for trying out a new service when it comes to brows, but they are also rewarded for coming back when it comes to brazilians.

“Specifically we want to promote our brazilian waxing because it is the best price in the city. First time is just $47 and every return wax visit is just $40,” Fox said.

Not all hair is unwanted at the salon however. Canvas has hopped on to the blowout bandwagon and after extensive training for the last four months, is ready to offer the style without the scissors.

“What we love about this expansion is that every salon offers blowdrys but the business model seen lately in Columbus for blowout-only locations has created a buzz here we want to offer our clients as well,” Fox said. “Instead of just doing blowdrys we wanted to be awesome at finishing the guests’ hair.”

Blowouts are $40 but complimentary with any other hair service, such as a cut or coloring. Better yet, all first time blowout guests only pay $20 for a ‘do of their choice.

For those who believe a blowout isn’t just a one-time luxury, customers can purchase monthly packages for $75. The package includes two blowouts, 10% off all Aveda products at Canvas and a rate of $35 for any additional blowout.

Below is a list of Canvas’ blowout concoctions, ranging from silky straight to voluminous and teased:

  • The New Yorker– Smooth and Sleek
