Bakersfield Taco Bout It 5k

Wendi Holley and her team at the Rolling Buckeyes know what cancer can do to a person and their family. That’s why her bicycle team is raising funds for the Young Survival Coalition through the Bakersfield Taco Bout It 5K on June 22 at Three Creeks Metro Park off Bixby Road in Columbus.

The bicycle team behind the 5k is made up of women who were diagnosed at a young age with breast cancer as well as co-survivors and supporters.

“We have all been supported and impacted by the Young Survival Coalition,” says Holley. “This is the premier organization for young women diagnosed with breast cancer aged 40 or younger.”

The purpose behind the Young Survival Coalition is to raise awareness about the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer.

“Walked and runners of all abilities are welcome,” says Holley. “If you are an avid runner, or just love tacos, this is the race for you.”

All registrants are guaranteed a t-shirt and medal while the top 3 male and female overall finishers will receive an additional prize.

Following the run, participants will be invited to enjoy a complimentary taco, courtesy of race sponsor Bakersfield Tacos.

Holley says that all proceeds from the event will benefit the Young Survival Coalition.
