Balanced Family Academy

Childcare can sometimes be difficult to find – especially when you have more than one child and life a busy lifestyle. In 2013, Balanced Family Academy opened its doors in Upper Arlington to cater to the entire family.

“As new mothers, founders Sarah and Rebecca understood the challenge of working full-time while trying to eat healthy and exercise regularly,” says Dublin Balanced Family Academy Owner Payton Thompson. “This is why they wanted to provide more than just child care – they wanted to create a community of families, that all had one goal in mind: providing the best for their family!”

Today, Balanced Family Academy is located in Upper Arlington, Dublin, and, now, Clintonville.

“Balanced Family Academy is an early childhood education center that provides individualized care for children ages 6 weeks through Kindergarten and a before-and-after school program for elementary school ages children at select locations,” says Thompson.

Balanced Family Academy offers a Full Circle curriculum that is customized for each age group while promoting engaging themes for children to explore while they get ready for elementary school. Tuition at Balanced Family Academy includes meals and snacks throughout the day, extracurricular activities such as yoga and gymnastics, diapers, and wipes.

“In addition to providing child care, we also offer a weekly take-home dinner option for the whole family, a grab-and-go fridge full of breakfast and lunch items for parents, and complimentary fitness classes for parents during child care hours,” adds Thompson.

Behind the offerings at Balanced Family Academy, the main mission is to make it possible for working parents to have time for what matters most – time together as a family.

Balanced Family Academy consistently encourages families to get the most time together that they can through events including family yoga, Ohio State Football tailgate parties, a fall harvest celebration, parents’ night out, a holiday program, and a Mid-Ohio Food Bank fundraiser to name a few.

When asked why parents should consider Balanced Family Academy for childcare, Thompson says the facility offers high-quality child care with ideal staff-to-child rations, a balance of teacher-led activities and child-initiated play, ongoing communication on each child’s academic development through assessments and conferences, meals prepared by Whisk Prep Kitchen, activities for both parents and children, and take-away prepared meals for busy families.
