Cbus Chic: Who is Bree Martin?
Bree Martin, Realtor/Buyer Specialist with Keller Williams Capital Partners: I’m a Realtor/Buyer Specialist with Keller Williams Capital Partners. I help people find their dream home! It’s an amazing and rewarding job. I’m originally from Newport Beach, California and moved around a lot until I landed here in Columbus about 5 years ago. I’m a vegan food fanatic, avid podcast listener, one of those people who talks about my dog like he’s my human son and wannabe yogi.

Cbus Chic: Why did you get involved in real estate?
Martin: I have always been obsessed with researching real estate, I was (and still am) attached to my phone at night researching homes for sale and fantasizing about how my life would be if I owned it. Honestly, for so many years I never realized that was an achievable dream. I was stuck to myths like “no bank will loan us money with student loans” or “you have to put 20%” down”. I didn’t want to rent any longer and I wanted to put my money to something that I could build equity with (real adult stuff, right?). I started researching beyond prices and pictures and met with a real estate agent who helped me through the process, but to be honest, I didn’t feel truly valued by the agent. I knew that I could do it better. I love helping and teaching people, above most other things. I took a leap of faith and got my license and have literally been doing what I love ever since.

Cbus Chic: What’s your favorite thing about your job?
Martin: The closing table! The excitement of the buyers signing the papers to their dream home. That moment is magical, I wish I could bottle that feeling up so share with you because it’s amazing. It’s a very personal moment that I get to be apart of. As the buyers sign the papers to their new home, you can see their energy shift, it’s the first moment of a new chapter of their life and I get the honor of helping them get there.

Cbus Chic: Why should buyers/sellers choose you as their agent?
Martin: When you work with me to buy a home, you’re getting my support but also the backing of a strong team behind you. At Keller Williams Capital Partners, I work on a team called the Smart Move Group as a Buying Specialist. This means 100% of my time is spent emerged in the buying process. I spend every morning scanning new inventory, watching market trends and connecting with buyers. I start the home buying process with a buyer consultation, where my goal is to educate my clients on what every step of the process is going to look like and answer any questions they may have. It’s a fun way to begin the journey because we get down to business but also get to know each other, it’s very important to me that we have good repertoire! Even though I just work with buyers, also on the team is Karen Smith, who works as a Listing Specialist. She truly the best in the biz at selling homes and creating a culture of service. Chris, our Director of Operations is brains behind the transaction, helping clients through paper work and compliance to ensure that nothing is missed and the transaction runs as smooth as possible. 

We take great pride in the relationships we build and always work relentlessly on the client’s behalf to help them achieve their real estate goals. We pledge to be in constant communication with our clients, keeping them fully informed throughout the entire buying or selling process. We believe that if you’re not left with an amazing experience, we haven’t done our job!

Cbus Chic: Is there anything new on the horizon for your business?
Martin: 2019 is going to be all about Social media outreach! I want to be able to reach new clients using the tools that I use when I am seeking  out information. Instagram, so far, has been great for reaching fellow Cbus residents, and even people looking to move here from out of state. 

I have a hashtag series I’ve just started called #buyingwithbree that I made to educate buyers. My intention is that they can use what they learn from me to feel empowered with knowledge of where to get started and what they should expect during the process.

Ultimately, I’m hoping this outreach will get me in front of more people looking to buy homes. Growing my business is very important to me and I do that by meeting more Columbus residents. I truly feel buying a home is more achievable than most people think and it thrills me to help them do it.
