Simply Vague owner, Andrea Archibald: Made LOCAL Marketplace is a one day shopping event where you can find unique products from over 70 Ohio artists, crafters, food artisans, inventors, and small business owners. The show is sponsored by Canvas Salon and Skin Bar, Cbus Chic, and helps benefit Pelotonia. I donate a portion of the proceeds from each vendor’s table fee to the Riding in Stile Pelotonia riding group. Admission is free to anyone that wants to come and shop!

Cbus Chic: What was the motivation behind creating the event?

Archibald: I began hosting Made LOCAL Marketplace shows last summer (first show was July 27th 2013, the second was December 14th 2013) because many of the vendors in our stores (Simply Vague located in the Mall at Tuttle Crossing and Polaris Fashion Place) were looking for more opportunities to sell their products. Columbus has several shows, many of them are small and the larger ones and are open to vendors from any state, not just Ohio vendors. Because I am passionate about all things Ohio made I wanted to organize a one day shopping experience that showcases the talent in Ohio and brings together the best products in the Buckeye State.

Cbus Chic: When and where will the Spring Show be held?

Archibald: The Spring Show is on March 29th 9:00am-4:00pm at Bridgewater Banquet and Conference Center in Powell (10561 Sawmill Parkway Powell OH 43065)

CBUS_CPHOTOCbus Chic: What vendors can we expect to see?

Archibald: The show will have all different types of vendors…food vendors offering things like homemade fudge, syrup, salsa, chocolate covered pretzels, and more, lots of items for dogs like custom embroidered bandanas, dog bowties, pet toys, several jewelry vendors, t-shirt vendors, vendors that make bath and body products, home décor, candles, even baby items like bedding and clothing.

Cbus Chic: Will there be anything outside of the vendors for attendees to enjoy?

Archibald: The Boutique Truck, Columbus’ first mobile fashion boutique will be parked right outside the venue! We will also have music entertainment from local musician JT Hillier (who is incredible I might add) from noon-2:00 inside the venue during the show. The first 50 shoppers at the event will receive a free tote bag. Stylists from Canvas Salon and Skin Bar will be at the show offering quick on the spot hair styles for donations to our Pelotonia fundraiser. The Delaware area humane society will have adoptable pets at the event as well.

Cbus Chic: Where can our readers go to learn more?

Archibald: Our website has more information, lists our spring show vendors, and has a meet the artist blog series. Our Facebook features announcements as we get closer to the event, it also has hundreds of pictures from our previous shows.
