Claudette’s Kids Foundation

Lucretia Williams of Distinct Event Planning has partnered with Claudette’s Kids Foundation to help families affected by breast cancer.

Distinct Event Planning, a full-service event planning agency, offers its event planning and design services for the annual events.

“Since December 2015, Claudette’s kids Foundation have given over $5,000 to 30 families and are slated to give another $2,000 by the end of 2019,” explains Williams. “We are honored to support this nonprofit organization, we help by bringing awareness to breast cancer and their efforts of financially supporting families who are in need of assistance.”

Claudette’s Kids Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in honor of Claudette Colon-Latimore, a single mother and childcare provider, who bravely battled breast cancer until her death in December 2004. “Her children lovingly created Claudette’s Kids Foundation to share her legacy of generosity with the cancer community,” says Williams.

The organization continues to support families coping with cancer and cancer-related loss through programs including a weekly prayer hotline, student scholarships, financial assistance, food baskets, community-focused events, and their annual fundraiser.

This year’s annual fundraiser is the Shades of Pink Women’s Prayer Breakfast slated for Saturday, September 28, at 9:30 am. To purchase tickets for the event, click here.

Williams says that what makes the partnership between Distinct Event Planning and Claudette’s Kids Foundation is her relationship with founder LaKesha Robinson.

“We became friends over 16 years ago,” says Williams. “I witnessed her mother battle breast cancer ultimately succumbing to her fight in 2004. But her amazing spirit lives on and watching LaKesha keep her mother’s legacy alive by helping families are going through this difficult season with their loved ones, just like she and her family did – is the ultimate sacrifice of paying it forward. I’m more than honored to be able to support her in bringing awareness to their efforts and assisting more families.”
