Fashionably Fit with Bend Active

The bamboo plant is flexible. It is strong, resilient, and bends — not breaks — with the wind. Similar to how we, as humans, hope to encounter obstacles and hurdles in life.

Incorporating the qualities of the bamboo plant into a “fitfashion” apparel brand (as well as their everyday lives) was the inspiration behind Bend Active, a business that’s locally-owned by husband-and-wife team Laura and Adam Heller.

Located at the Shops on Lane Avenue at 1617 W. Lane Avenue, Laura says the store carries a variety of fitfashion items such as leggings, tops, sports bras, and yoga mats.
“All of our leggings are made out of performance material, which makes them great for tough workouts, but they come in so many great colors and patterns, making them cute for just running around town,” she explains. “We also carry a variety of tops from performance tanks to sweaters that pair well with leggings or jeans.”
Aside from the variety of apparel offered at Bend Active, Laura says they’re also dedicated to being involved in the community and giving back. “We have several collections that all have a giveback component, this includes the Shelley Meyer Collection where a percentage of sales benefit the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for Cancer Research,” she says.
The store also hosts complimentary workout classes and girls night out events as a fun way to connect with the community and bring other fashionable and fit C’busers together.
Laura says several of the brand’s collections are getting a new look for spring. “Think beachy, flamingos, super bright colors,” she says of the new styles, which will be available at the end of March.
