GDC: Five Fab Tips for Wearing Red

It’s heart health awareness month, so we’re appearing on WTTE FOX28 Columbus to offer these trendy ways to Go Red in style. Make sure you tune in at 9:45am on Thursday, Feb. 7 to check out the segment. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peak of our tips!

1) LACE. Used as both accent and the main attraction, lace was spotted all over Spring 2013’s fashion week runways. Red lace dresses in particular are now in high-demand in Hollywood.

2) SEPARATES. Red is such a bold color, so we recommend buying in separates so you wear together when you want to go bold, or go for the jumpsuit effect, but still have them as separates to coordinate with other looks later and increase your cost-per-wear.

3) SEQUINS. Red sequins were a huge trend at Milan Fashion Week Spring 2013. Whether you want a hint of sparkle with an embellished dress or want to invest in a high-impact piece like an sequined jacket or dress, you’re definitely going to want to get your hands on some sparkle for Spring.

4) LEOPARD PRINT. Red pairs perfectly with leopard print. From a shoe, belt, scarf, earring, or – if you want to be bold – pants!

5) ACCESSORIZE. Red isn’t for everyone, so you can bring it in to your look in subtle – but still fabulous – ways. This can be with accessories or even your nails or lipstick. Bold lips are a big trend right now. It’s a great way to instantly brighten your look (and whiten your smile), so visit a local cosmetics counter to find the red lip color for you. Until you visit an expert though, here’s a quick way to pick the hue for you: If your skin has a warm, golden cast, choose a warm red lipstick. If your skin has a cool, pink cast, choose a cool red lipstick.
