Made LOCAL Marketplace

The 10th Made LOCAL Marketplace event is scheduled for December 12th 2015 and  will take place at Bridgewater Banquet Center in Powell from 9am-4pm.
Untitled“Made LOCAL Marketplace started because my husband and I we were constantly talking to vendors about the various shows that take place throughout the city. Makers would come into Simply Vague after participating in craft shows, art shows, trade shows, flea markets and would let us know all about their experiences. Taking all of the feedback I had heard in mind I set out to create a show unlike anything else that currently takes place in Columbus, explains Simply Vague Owner and Made Local Marketplace Show host Andrea Archibald.

Made LOCAL Marketplace is unique in that it is the largest all local event that will only accept artists, crafter, inventors, food artisans, and entrepreneurs from Ohio. All the items sold by vendors at the shows must be made locally, “we don’t allow any direct sales companies,” explains Archibald. “We have a jury process and will only accept makers with high quality Ohio made goods to participate. Since our first event Made LOCAL Marketplace just continues to get bigger and better.”

You can expect to see 90 local companies in attendance with the widest range of products yet, everything from items for dogs, children, home decor, apparel, and lots of delicious local treats. Made LOCAL Marketplace takes place 4 times each year.

insightlyEach event has a large selection of local food artisans. For the first time Flour Loves Sugar an artisan cookie bakery from Van Wert Ohio will be taking part in the event. Besides those must try sweet treats you can expect to find fresh salsa, tea, Ohio maple syrup and more. Each show also features music from local singer songwriters.

In the past the events have benefited Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Pelotonia, Mid Ohio Food Bank, Faithful Forgotten Best Friends, Music Loves Ohio, Miracle for Madison and Friends, The Sam Bish Foundation, and Dress for Success Columbus. The holiday show that will take place on December 12th will benefit Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio

Vendors can apply online at “The Holiday Show will be our largest show of the year,” says Archibald.

“Hosting the Made LOCAL Marketplace show is rewarding in so many ways, I obviously love being able to give back to different organizations but I am very passionate about increasing local spending in Ohio and it is so rewarding to see how Made LOCAL Marketplace has grown to be a major event that really offers a great opportunity for hundreds of local small business owners to not only sell their products but to gain exposure for their businesses.”

More show details will be posted as we get closer to the big day. You can visit for more information.
