Nourish Yo’ Self

Cecilia Shanahan is a Certified Yoga Instructor, Holistic Wellness Coach, and Urban Zen Integrative Therapist. Pieces that made launching Nourish Holistic Wellness a natural progression.

“I had been teaching for several years prior, as well as making my own oil blends as part of my own ‘clean”; self-care routine,” Cecilia explains. And in 2015, she decided it was time to take the leap and share this work. She launched Nourish Holistic Wellness in November of that year, with the intent of cultivating a community of sacred self-care, and nourishment for the mind, body, and spirit.

Nourish offers private yoga, mindfulness, and wellness sessions, which can also be tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals and organizations. For Cecilia, she believes that a necessary part of the process is taking the time to get clear on what’s needed, what resonates most, and what feels like the most supportive next step on the journey to self-care.

She helps with those parts by offering – through Nourish – the previously mentioned private yoga, as well as mindfulness and Urban Zen sessions. These sessions are tailored to the unique needs of each individual and group, and a free consultation is provided with each new client to better understand preferences, needs, and wellness goals.

Nourish also offers natural essential oil blends that are crafted to target specific needs, such as supporting sleep and easing anxiety.

All blends use therapeutic grade essential oils, with zero artificial chemicals or synthetics added, and are all mindfully made in small batches.

Cecilia says, “this unique oil line was born from a desire to share earth’s natural healing powers.”

If you’re looking for ways to add some mindfulness and holistic wellness into your life for the new year, Cecilia has some tips. She recommends that, “rather, than setting lofty goals of ‘doing,’ in the new year year, focus on simply ‘being.’ Focus on better understanding yourself and cultivating a deeper sense of awareness, presence, and compassion.”

She also adds that, “when we’re able to create this space to simply pause and reconnect with our breath and body, it can be transformational. It creates more space for us to be fully awake to our life and respond from a place of wisdom, as well as understand our needs and desires.”

“Oftentimes we set ourselves up for failure when we approach this aspect of ‘self-improvement’ by diving into a new diet or exercise routine without truly reflecting on what void we’re trying to fill or without checking in along the way.  If you’re launching a new mindfulness routine for the first time, start small (2-3 minutes) and gradually work your way up, so it feels more manageable and you can stay consistent.” concludes Cecilia.
