Planning a wedding can easily turn a blushing bride into a bridezilla. That’s where Jamie Rapavy, owner and wedding event manager at Columbus Bride & Groom, can help.

“I love educating and I feel that brides need some free help to get them started,” says Rapavy, who adds that she loves offering tips, resources, and industry connections to help her clients create a memorable day.

Rapavy has been in the hospitality industry for 28 years and has spent the last 11 years as a wedding planner. “I am changing my role in order to grow Columbus Bride and Groom and offer my knowledge to brides in our resource center,” she adds.

“I love working with brides, making the process fun for them, and providing them with inspiration.”

Columbus Bride & Groom offers a free wedding resource center, based in Dublin, where brides can look through vendor portfolios, linen samples, invitations, books, magazines, listen to ceremony music options, and much inspiration that is needed. Their website serves as an expansive resource with a directory of the best wedding professional in Columbus that brides can choose from. Columbus Bride & Groom also offers champagne open houses for brides to get tips and trends from industry professionals to help make that special day easier for them.

Every spring and fall, Columbus Bride & Groom attracts 325-375 people to their unique bridal show The Wedding Experience, where couples can see what wedding professionals in Columbus have to offer by attending mock wedding receptions. At The Wedding Experience couples are able to taste test different signature drinks, food, desserts, and cake.

They are also able to listen to live music, and meet and listen to different DJs. Hair and makeup professionals will show you what they have to offer so you can get an idea of what you want on that big day. Couples will also have a chance to learn some new dance moves, get fitness tips, and find amazing decor.

“There is not a business like ours in town that offers the many outlets for engaged couples in their planning process,” says Rapavy. This year, Rapavy is hoting an event called “The Ultimate Date Night” on Friday, November 8 from 6:30-9:30PM to help couples plan their wedding in style.
