Reverse Winter Balance

Winter. The day(light) is shorter, the wind is crisper, and it’s all around just COLD! And on top of all those things, you’re bundled up so much it takes you 10 minutes to delayer whenever you go somewhere.

 

I mean, there are positives like snow days, sledding, and hot cocoa…but all that time outside also wreaks havoc on your skin. Which is why, we here at Cbus Chic, asked our Beauty Contributor, Nicole DiTommaso of Reverse Vanity Spa, to share her “Winter Balance” tricks and tips for skin in this season. As DiTommaso says:

 

There is no surprise most of us are left feeling drained, lethargic, and unmotivated after the long holiday season. Winter finally kicks in and gives us every excuse not to venture any further then from the couch to the refrigerator. But instead of us sulking in our winter blues, let’s explore a few pick-me-ups that will refresh your skin, mind, and body!

 

oatmeal scrubFor starters, it always feels good to put your best face forward. With the cold intruding on our skin, we can be left to look dull and dry. Creating an at home oatmeal mask is a quick fix to combat any dry skin condition. Oatmeal is also a natural skin brightener and will leave your skin with a soft glow.

 

Try this at home recipe:

  • Combine ½ of warm water and 1/3 cup oatmeal
  • Let the water and oatmeal settle
  • Mix in 2 Tablespoons plain yogurt, 2 Tablespoons honey, and 1 small egg white
  • Apply a very thin layer to your face
  • Let it set for 10-15 minutes

Important note – you can use this mask 2 times a week.
