Ross Wellness 5k

Lace up your running shoes and put on your game face for this year’s Ross Wellness 5k, all for a great cause in honor of Heart Health Awareness Month. Learn how to participate in the race here.

2014 will be the second year for the annual Ross Wellness 5k event. We encourage you to get out and run it yourself or at least cheer on those who are on Saturday February 8th on the streets of Easton Towne Center.

With a more than reasonable registration price of $30 pre-race registration and a $35 day-of price you can race for a great and local benefit! Just make sure you sign up before February 8th for pre-race registration. Race-day registration opens at 7:45 race morning.

But what exactly is benefiting from this race? Well other than a good workout Emily Kaeding, marketing coordinator for The Ohio State University tells us that funding goes to “Ohio State’s Ross Heart Hospital – patient care and research will benefit from the funds.”

Although the run is timed you are not required to run, Kaeding assured us that walking is encouraged as well!  “You can choose to either run or walk the 3.1 miles – prefect if you are looking for some exercise to keep your new year’s resolution.”

Don’t forget the Red apparel! “Red is the color of heart health awareness so we are encouraging all participants to wear red to show their support of spreading awareness to keep hearts health and prevent heart disease, the #1 killer of all Americans,” explains Kaeding.

Bring the children along! “All children 12 and under can participate for free with a registered adult!” The whole family can join in and celebrate the post race together with a free lunch provided to participants at KDB restaurant inside Easton,” says Kaeding.

Paint the streets of Easton red to help raise awareness and benefit Ohio State’s Ross Heart Hospital research this Saturday February 8th!
