Shear Madness Studio

Mary Magnusson, owner of Shear Madness Studio

“To enhance beauty from the inside out. To give each client the balance they need and the formula to continue a daily regimen that will provide longevity to each client’s new found transformation.”

This is what inspired Mary Magnusson to launch Shear Madness Studio eight years ago. Based in Westerville, the studio is the home base for any client who is looking to “better their salon experience and leave with perfect color or precise cuts.”

Magnusson says she founded and created Shear Madness Studio on the basis of giving a client a different sense of comfort when they walk through the front doors.

Shear Madness Studio works to ensure clients leave with an even bigger smile than they walked in with.

Magnusson was recently named one of the top 30 color artists in the country and one of the top educators nationwide. A 16-year veteran of the professional beauty industry, she’s never doubted her passion for hair. “I’ve been working in salons since age 16 and with high-end makeup companies such as Lancome, Estee Lauder, and Laura Mercier, which has led me to grow stronger and more talented every day.”

After moving to Ohio 16 years ago, Magnusson has continually worked toward becoming one of the top artists in the hair and makeup world.

“My passions, dreams, and goals are to produce beautiful hair and makeup wherever I am,” she says. “I keep up with the latest techniques and hair trends as they appear on the fashion scene, and am constantly working on my own innovative techniques, pushing the boundaries of hair.”

Trained in the cut and color techniques of Redken, Paul Mitchell, and GK Hair, Magnusson is a national educator with GK Hair and often has the opportunity to share her skills and techniques with others around the world.

“I know what I do,” she says. “I do what I love. With compassion and knowledge, you will not only be pleased with your experience, you will feel beautiful with the result.”

Magnusson says that what makes Shear Madness Studio unique is the difference you feel as soon as you walk through the doors. “There will never be a lack of gratitude when you show up to spend time with us,” she says. “What makes us unique is not only an individual effort but a team effort to make sure that everyone walks in with a smile and walk out with an even bigger smile. There is nothing better than knowing our unique way to come together and create art also enhances one’s personal feeling for the better.”

Currently, Magnusson is continuing to build the Shear Madness Team and is aiming to offer more talent for the convenience of clients to be able to receive anything above and beyond what they would be looking for.

Shear Madness Studio is located at 58 E. Main Street in uptown Westerville. “We value being part of the historic district in keeping that comfort of a small town in a big city alive,” adds Magnusson.
