Soothe Your Troubles Away

While at Harvard Business school in 2013, Merlin Kauffman was traveling a lot and realized that finding a time to schedule a massage outside of business hours was next to impossible. So Kauffman decided that the way to solve this problem, was to create his own solution.

Kauffman created and launched Soothe, a on-demand massage service and app that lets users schedule a same-day massage in the privacy of their home (or even hotel – if you’re already out and about). Now in 51 cities across the US, Canada, and the UK, Soothe offers their users access to over 8,000 certified massage therapists.

“Everyone deserves to have a massage after a long day at the office or while on vacation, either as a gift to oneself or another,” Kauffman explains.

Soothe branched out to Columbus last fall (and is in Cincinnati as well – for all our crossover Cincy Chic readers). That means Cbus’rs can now have 4 types of massages delivered right to their door:

  • Deep tissue massage
  • Swedish massage
  • Sports massage
  • Prenatal massage

And while their deep tissue massage is the most popular, it’s all about the experience and ease of booking that’s the real selling point.

Kauffman adds that Soothe’s massage therapists, “provide spa-quality treatments without the hassle of finding parking or dealing with traffic.”

You can book a massage anytime between 8AM and Midnight, which means you can have a relaxing massage already lined up as you leave (a possibly stressful) day at the office. And if you don’t want to go solo, you can also book Soothe service as a couples massage.

And you’re not set to one time limit either. You can pick from three options*:

  • 60 minutes: $99
  • 90 minutes: $139
  • 120 minutes: $169

And if you liked your session, Soothe clients can re-book the same therapist for future massages.

So if you’re looking for a fun and easy way to relax, Soothe is here (in Columbus!) to provide you with the massage of your dreams.
