Taking a Leap with Team Fleisher Communications

Marcy Fleisher spent decades working as a television reporter. “I loved reporting, but with two daughters at home, I wanted a schedule that offered me more flexibility to be there for my girls,” she explains. 

That’s when she stepped away from television reporting and took a leap of faith to communications, where she felt like she could build a career that would offer her a greater sense of independence and financial security. 

Today, Fleisher is the founder and owner of Team Fleisher Communications, a full-service public relations and marketing firm that delivers solutions based on decades of experience.

“Our background is in journalism and our passion is crafting stories,” says Fleisher. “We know how to tell our clients’ stories in the right places and in the right way. This allows us to secure impactful, earned media in outlets that reach target audiences. In addition to public relations, we offer solutions that adapt to each client’s specific needs. That includes creating compelling content, crisis communication counseling, strategic counseling, media relations and raining, social media strategy, and more.”

Team Fleisher Communications began as a part-time endeavor for Fleisher, as she thought about where to take her career. However, it was about 11 years ago that the business transitioned into a more formal organization and her first employees were hired around 10 years ago before moving into offices in downtown Columbus about six years ago.

Although the firm is small, it can do big things, Fleisher says. In fact, she adds, the firm can scale up when needed and scale back when necessary, which helps to keep costs down and helps give clients the most for their money. 

The team also has deep experience and expertise, led by a group of professionals that have been in the communications field for decades. 

“It means we get it right the first time and don’t just meet a client’s expectations, but exceed them,” says Fleisher. “We also truly understand and value relationships, between our clients and ourselves and with the influencers we often work with.”

Team Fleisher is shooting for the stars in 2018, Fleisher says. They recently brought on two new team members and Fleisher says they have plans in motion to explore new ways to help clients tell their stories and reach their audiences. “We’re always learning new ways to do what we do even better,” she adds.
