Wine Women & Shoes

Wine Women & Shoes is a nationwide project that partners with non-profits in 60 cities across the country. The organization hosts events that are not only popular but offer non-profits the opportunity to increase their resources available to them.

According Amber Scott-Mandelbaum at the Community Shelter Board, which hosts the Columbus Wine Women & Shoes event, the event brings to Columbus the opportunity to have fun with a purpose while raising funds for homeless programs and housing services that help vulnerable families and single adults in our community.

“At the Community Shelter Board, we like to refer to Wine Women & Shoes as our ‘party with a purpose,'” she says. “The event is the perfect combination of fun and philanthropy, providing an opportunity for women (and men) across Columbus to have a fun night out while also supporting their community in an impactful way.”

The next Wine Women & Shoes event is  planned for November 8 at the Columbus Museum of Art. Scott-Mandelbaum says the event will be held from 6-9 and features a 2-hour marketplace with a 1-hour seated program.

“The marketplace includes wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, shopping, raffles, and a silent auction,” she says. “The seated program includes Community Shelter Board’s mission moment, best in shoe awards, a live auction, and entertainment. In 2018, 300 attendees gathered to raise money for housing programs to stabilize families and expectant mothers facing homelessness.”

Wine Women & Shoes in Columbus wants to help with the issue of homelessness through its innovative fundraising event, which this year will feature an entertainment portion, a “Show Stopping Style” award, and other activities that are in the confirmation stage.
