5 *Extra* Steps For Your Beauty Routine

I previously shared nine steps for a “Simplified Morning Beauty Routine.” So, I figured some of you may want some additional steps to add to your beauty routine. Here are five things I do throughout the week to help with keeping all this together.

#1 – Sheet Masks

Sheet masks are a staple in the Korean Skincare Routine. It’s a super boost of moisture and treatment in a mask form. If you haven’t tried one, make sure you check them out. They’re a fun self-care activity when you are feeling down in the dumps or having a major PMS hit.

#2 – Eye Masks

I only do this step on the mornings when pounds of concealer would never cover up the deadness that’s less than eight hours of sleep. I absolutely love Petitfee Black Pearl and Gold Hydrogel Eye Patch.

Not only does it give my eyes an instant face lift, it smells amazing and stays on extremely well; so I’m able to do other morning activities while it does its magic.

Helpful Hint:  I put this on after I’ve used my Norwex facial cloths and Beauty Water. I put it on, make and eat breakfast, then go!

#3 – Sleeping Pack

This step is for those long, cold, super dry winter months or year-round if you’re prone to desert like skin. You complete this step after applying your moisturizer at night. It’s an added boost of moisture you wear over the night to help with any dry spots.

Most sleeping packs make your face feel like you just dipped your skull in a vat of butter. But the good news is you only have to wear it overnight.

#4 – Exfoliator

If you follow the steps above, you don’t necessarily need to exfoliate regularly. We all know the benefits of exfoliating, so I won’t go into those details. But if you feel you need a little pick me up, check out Dr. Brandt MicrodermabrasionI use it once a week on top of this normal routine, and it leaves my skin feeling super soft and glowy. Just make sure you apply sunscreen if you’re going outside!

Another exfoliating favorite is the Philosophy Microdelievery Resurfacing Peel. This two step process is a bit pricey, but so incredibly worth it. Leaves your skin feeling so soft and refreshed.

#5 – Pore Pack

I have oily skin by nature and prefer a matte finish to my makeup. Most days, I finish off my look with a quick dusting of either No 7 Translucent Perfect Light Pressed Powder or Son and Park’s Flawless Pore Pack.

These guys soak up any oil and help set your foundation. I’m not one to “touch up” my makeup throughout my day, so this step is a must for me because it allows my makeup to last longer throughout the day.

Honest Beauty Balm. I love this product for pretty much anything. Whoever their marketing team is, they should win an award right up there with the Wendy’s Chicks roasting people on twitter.

The directions read: “Apply liberally, everywhere.” And they mean it. Under-eyes, cuticles, elbows, lips, dry spots. Everywhere!
