It’s not often that you hear of a biomedical engineering major ultimately becoming a freelance creative. Smucker, a graduate of The Ohio State University, discovered his passion for video when he was a junior in college.

As a computer lover, he has combined his technical knowledge and experience with his creative side, becoming a successful videographer.

In early 2010, Smucker began doing freelance videography. Rather than limiting himself to a specific area, he has done a wide array of films and has experience filming many types of videos. “I have done work for clients big and small, anything from commercial work, to music videos, to weddings and e-cards,” says Smucker.

Smucker has filmed an “I Am An Architect” rap parody video and various music videos for the band Shine Bright Baby. Smucker also operates a business called Framecarved, which turns videos into short stories. This business films for non-profits, weddings, churches and businesses.

Insightly_1Smucker is also involved in filming for Because I Said I Would, a non-profit organization that carries out charitable projects. He recently was the director of a viral video: the “I Killed A Man” confession, which was first shown on Because I Said I Would.

In addition to being a successful videographer, Smucker was also in the marching band at The Ohio State University. His biggest life accomplishment, however, is his successful career. “I think one of my greatest accomplishments would be living out my dream job, and working hard to make it a reality,” says Smucker.

Smucker is looking forward to building his portfolio as his career in videography continues. He is excited to work with numerous brands and clients and continue to diversify his experience.
