Nationwide Children’s Hospital Holiday Campaign with Lane Bryant and Catherines

Our Local Editor chats with Kathy Quickert, Lane Bryant AVP Marketing Operations, to learn more about Columbus-based plus size apparel brands Lane Bryant and Catherines partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital. This holiday season, they’re helping kids everywhere by offering opportunities for employees and clients to raise funds through a dedicated holiday campaign.


The brands are collecting around 450 toys and games. The “Wish List Tree” at ascena’s Columbus headquarters is decorated with tags that list gifts for various age groups. Employees then take tags, purchase gifts, and place them under the tree. On December 20, from 7:30 to 9:00AM, employees will personally deliver the gifts to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital to help spread holiday cheer.


“Nationwide Children’s Hospital not only has local relevance to our business – many of our Lane Bryant and Catherines associates have had personal experiences with the hospital and its services,” says Lane Bryant AVP Marketing Operations Kathy Quickert.


“It was truly awesome to see the pile of donated gifts grow around the Wish List Tree in our office each day. It’s an amazing feeling to give back to our local community in such a major way,” Quickert shares. 


Plus, the brands will send a special “thank you” to the hospital and its
services to kick-off the campaign. A special video series will be shared across Lane Bryant and Catherines’ social media and digital channels beginning in November; each video will star an associate sharing his or her personal experiences with Nationwide Children’s.


Lane Bryant and Catherines are offering multiple opportunities for clients to contribute to Nationwide Children’s this holiday season. Both brands’ll offer an exclusive “Little Book of Good Karma” coupon book, which can be purchased with a $5 donation in stores and online.


The brands will also offer register opportunities in stores, such as rounding up purchases to the nearest dollar amount with the extra funds being donated to Nationwide Children’s. 


Additional employee fundraising efforts include:

  • backpack drive to benefit the hospital’s partnership with the Reach Out and Read program
  • on-site snack carts
  • holiday bake sale
  • gift wrapping event at the ascena headquarters

All these efforts benefit Nationwide Children’s. Lane Bryant and Catherines will also have “Floor Bucket Challenges” in their retail stores, which will challenge store associates to collect the most amount of donations for Nationwide Children’s possible in 30 minutes.
